Guide for Mail Server setup in GMail

  1. Login to your Google account

  2. Move to account settings

  3. Open the “Security” configuration on the left sidebar

  4. Activate two step verification

  5. After activation move to “App passwords”

  6. Select for both fields “other” - The fields requested are “app” and device

  7. Provide a name for the app password, e.g. “Page Beam App”

  8. Click on generate and copy the password

  9. Move back to your confluence cloud instance and navigate to the Page Beam server configuration in the administration of confluence

Save your password securely. You can not access it again.

Mail Settings

  • From address: <your address>@smtp.gmail.com

  • From name: Define a name for the sending party of the mail

  • Subject prefix: Define a prefix to be used in the mail subject

Mailserver Account

  • Server hostname: smtp.gmail.com

  • Server port: 587

  • Username: Use your google account name (<your address>@your-domain.com)

  • Password: Use the app password from above
