Page Beam Release 5.0.0

Mail Page for Confluence Cloud is now “Page Beam”.

New Features

The first two features were requested by a customer and implemented free of charge.
Are you still missing functions in Page Beam? Feel free to write to us: https://elliptic-bytes.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/3/group/3/create/13

Send an excerpt of a Confluence page with link

A new option is available in the Page Beam mail form to send a specific excerpt of a Confluence page by mail. To do this, Atlassian's own excerpt macro must be used on the Confluence page. Either the first excerpt on the page or the excerpt with the name “pagebeam” is sent.
The excerpt is sent in the mail with a button at the end of the mail with a link to the full page.
In this way, attention can be drawn to certain Confluence content and users can be encouraged to use Confluence more frequently (e.g. in the intranet use case).

Mail layout customization

Further customizations can now be made to the mail layout in the Page Beam Administration. For example, the initial sentence in the mail can be changed with placeholders for the sender's name and Atlassian Cloud instance. The button that is displayed in the new excerpt feature can be inserted in all mails and the label of the button can be customized.
This allows the Page Beam content of the mail to be completely internationalized.

Data Residency

Page Beam now supports the full data residency function of Atlassian Cloud. Since Page Beam did not store any data outside the Atlassian Cloud before, it was already possible to ensure that the data was only stored where the customer preferred.
Due to an internal software adjustment, however, this is now also explicitly indicated as compatible by Atlassian. Due to this change, there was a major version jump in this update, which requires a manual update by the administrator. See also the other changes below.

Changes

The rebranding of Mail Page for Confluence Cloud to “Page Beam - Mail Confluence Pages Instantly” is now complete. The Marketplace Vendor was also changed on Oct 1, 2024:
Seibert Group - Elliptic Bytes

Nothing will change for our customers. The new Marketplace Vendor is also part of the Seibert Group. You can continue to expect exciting new functions, high product quality and excellent support.

In the process of the migration, the internal host addresses for accessing the Page Beam backend were also adjusted, which also caused the major version jump:

Previously: *.kencha-services.seibert-media.net
Now: *.elliptic-bytes.seibert.group

The underlying systems are the same, only the host addresses have changed due to the rebranding.
