As an alternative to sending the complete Confluence page, only a specific excerpt of a Confluence page can be sent via Page Beam. A button with a link to the complete page then appears at the end of the mail.

This can be used, for example, to make users interested in certain content and encourage them to go to the Confluence system (intranet use case).

To do this, you first add a Confluence macro excerpt to a page.

And then you can select the option “Only send excerpt of this page with link” in the Page Beam mail form:

This is what the sent mail looks like in the example:

If there is no excerpt on the page, the option in the Page Beam mail form is grayed out:

The first excerpt of a Confluence page is always sent. If you want to use a different, specific excerpt on the page, it must have the name “pagebeam”.
